I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at University of Washington, Tacoma. I received my BA in Psychology and Biology from Bard College in New York, and my MA & PhD in Social Psychology from New York University. Before joining UW Tacoma, I was an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, and prior to that, a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Macalester College in St Paul, MN.

I take a social cognitive approach to understanding how identities, including social, racial, and ethnic, identities, and various intergroup processes can shape our perception, attitudes, and actions. My work has been covered in major media outlets such as the New Yorker, the Boston Globe, Vox.com, etc. In both my teaching and research, I hope to guide students in gaining a deeper understanding of the psychological roots of diversity and social justice.
